1176-Fix Your Eyes on the Lord Jesus
1176-Fix Your Eyes on the Lord Jesus

Matthew 14:23-33,

23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. 25 Shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” 32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

The topic we are sharing is Fixing Our Eyes on the Lord Jesus.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we especially thank and praise you! During this time, we gather once again before your word. We believe this moment is an anointed moment from God. When our eyes are fixed on Jesus Christ, our situations begin to change. At this moment, I am willing to look up to your provision. You know everyone’s needs; you are the God who provides in due time. I look forward to receiving strength from your word. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen! Hallelujah!

Many people say, “I have been so weak and discouraged lately!” What is the problem? Some say, “I haven’t read the Bible enough recently, so I feel weak.” Others say, “I haven’t attended meetings enough lately, so I feel weak.” This is part of the reason for your weakness, but the most important reason is, because people’s eyes are focused in the wrong place.

If your eyes are before Jesus Christ every day, you are strong. In Abraham's time, there was no Bible, but Abraham's eyes were always on God. This is one of the most important reasons he could remain strong—keeping his eyes on God. Amen! Brothers and sisters, a church is never perfect. If we do not fix our eyes on the Lord, many disputes and complaints will arise among us.

First Point: Do Not Focus on the Environment or People

Why should we not focus our eyes on the environment? Because when we focus on the environment, we can easily become discouraged and fearful.

Exodus 14:13, Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.”

Today, in the passage we read, the disciples had just seen Jesus perform a great miracle of feeding five thousand men with five loaves and two fish. After such a miracle, Jesus told them to cross to the other side of the sea. While the disciples were rowing the boat, the Bible tells us that the boat was buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it, making it difficult to navigate. It seemed that the journey ahead was greatly obstructed, and it was the fourth watch of the night. After the fourth watch, dawn would soon break.

Before dawn, that time is the darkest. After the fourth watch, light will soon be seen, and for many problems, you will not be so afraid.

But it was precisely at the fourth watch, the darkest moment, that the disciples needed comfort and help. Just like in our generation, when you are at your weakest and need help, Jesus comes to you. Jesus Christ knows our needs. He walks on the water to the disciples when they need Him the most.

What was the reason Jesus went to find the disciples? Was it to scare them? No.

When the disciples saw Jesus coming, Peter and the others said, “It’s a ghost,” and they were all terrified. People instinctively fear the unknown.

If we focus on the environment, we will worry and be afraid. First, the waves are very high, creating resistance as they move forward. Second, they see something that looks like a person on the water, and because they cannot see clearly, they are afraid.

Many times, when you find yourself in an unfamiliar environment, your first thought is fear; this is a natural human reaction. So Jesus came to resolve their fear. Jesus said, “Do not be afraid. It is I. Take courage!”

When you are afraid, do not be discouraged, for Jesus can solve your problems.

When the Israelites were leaving Egypt, they were afraid, with the Egyptian army behind them and no way forward, just the Red Sea. By their own strength, they could not cross. At this moment, Moses said to the people: “Do not be afraid. Stand firm!” Why did he tell the people not to be afraid? The following verse is also a promise God wants to give you: “See the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.”

God’s salvation is always for today. Many times, people pray, “Lord, please heal me. I believe you will heal me later.” When people place God’s salvation in the future, it is hard to see this happening for you. We need to be like Moses, making the correct declaration to the people: “Just stand firm and see what our Lord will do for you today!”

Do not say, “Lord, I believe you will change my temper later, change my business later, heal my body later.” That is wrong. It is today that God is changing you. Because God’s salvation is for today, the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.

When we pray for healing, God means that today He will bring salvation to you; your sickness will be gone! If you can receive this word, it will be accomplished in you. Hallelujah!

When the disciples looked at the environment, the waves were high, and it was dark. Suddenly, a figure appeared on the water, and they were all afraid.

Matthew 14:27, Jesus immediately said to them, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

Jesus did not come to scare us or condemn us. He came to comfort us. He is your Lord, do not look at how bad your environment is, for He is with you. Remember that God is with you at all times; He is your help, your strength.

Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Brothers and sisters, you can meditate on this scripture this week. Whether you are on a business trip, working, taking care of children, or traveling, God will be with you. With Him by your side, there is nothing to fear.

Joshua was also a great spiritual predecessor, but compared to Moses, he was indeed a bit lacking. We do not have to compare the two, as Moses had immense capabilities. God performed many miracles through him, and his position among the Israelites was irreplaceable.

When Moses was leading the people, they were difficult to lead—two million of them, and their specialty was complaining. When there was no water to drink, they said, “Moses, are you going to let us die of thirst here? When we were in Egypt, we had onions, garlic, leeks, and meat soup to drink. Here, we have nothing.” When the weather was hot, they said, “It’s hot here, there’s no food, the road is bad; we might as well go back. Who told you to bring us out?” Moses was almost stoned to death by them several times.

After Joshua took over from Moses, he did not know how to lead these people and was afraid.

God personally said to Joshua: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged!”

He did not know how to proceed on the journey ahead. God’s comfort to Joshua gave him great strength and help. When you encounter difficulties, do not look at people. Joshua was also an ordinary person; he had weak moments. But God gave him words to rely on and overcome. You also need to fix your eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ; He is the one who is eternally strong.

Someone may be very wealthy, someone may have great abilities, but they have nothing to do with you; do not focus on them. Brothers and sisters, Jesus Christ is the one we need to focus on because wherever you go, He will be with you. Therefore, do not place your eyes on people. Because if you focus on people, one day you will fall.

God’s promise is that wherever you go, the Lord your God will be with you. This is why you can be strong. When you encounter difficulties, even if the environment is terrible, Jesus Christ comes; He has the power to solve all your problems.

Let’s look at today’s passage, verse 32: “And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.”

The disciples were desperately rowing the boat, but the wind and waves were strong, and they could not get through. When Jesus got into the boat with them, the wind and waves stopped.

When people work hard in the world, they may feel lonely and fearful. But when Jesus is with you, your environment will also change, so do not be afraid or discouraged.

Jesus came to find the disciples to give them comfort. The disciples were all afraid. In this last generation, you will see many things that will frighten you, but at the same time, you must tell yourself: The Lord Jesus is with me. Wherever I go, I will not be afraid because He will help me solve my problems.

After Jesus died and rose again, the disciples were afraid, hiding in a room praying. Suddenly, Jesus appeared among them, and His first words were: “Peace be with you!” But in the original text, it is just two words, Shalom. He did not say, “I hope you are at peace!” Jesus came and said, “Peace!” When the disciples saw Him, they rejoiced.

When you are afraid of something, you should look up to the words of Jesus Christ, keep God’s words in your heart, and know that He is with you, and you will not be afraid.

Mark 5:35-36,

While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?” 36 Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe!”

These six words, I once gave to a sister when her situation was very dire. She said, “It’s hopeless! I’m going to die! No matter what, I can’t get through this.” At that time, I told her these six words: Jesus Christ gave these six words to people in despair: “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” You believe in Jesus Christ. He has the power to turn your situation around; He has the ability to solve your problems. This is why we should not be afraid. When you focus on people or the environment, those people cannot solve your problems, and at that moment, you become discouraged and fearful about how to proceed.

There was a sister who had cancer, and she was very afraid. Can a person not be afraid when illness strikes? I also gave her these six words: “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” Because the one we believe in is powerful. He can remove our fears and solve our problems, so you need to correctly understand Jesus Christ.

Someone said, “Your daughter is dead! Why bother the teacher anymore?” This is human despair. Someone has cancer, and the doctor says, “We have done our best.” Others preach the gospel to him, saying, “Believe in Jesus!” He replies, “The doctor is powerless! What good is believing in Jesus? It’s already like this; how can believing in Jesus help?”

You should not ask that. You should ask, “What kind of Lord is your Jesus?” If you ask this way, others will tell you that our Lord Jesus is the Almighty God. The God who raises the dead is not just a story from the Bible; it is still happening today. Jesus always comforts people, saying, “Do not be afraid.” The situation may seem hopeless, but God is still your last hope. This is the first point we share.

Now let’s share the second point: Turn Your Eyes to God.

What happened in today’s passage? When the disciples were afraid, Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid; it is I!” Peter looked and thought, “Wow! You can stand on the water!”

Do you know how liberals explain this passage? They tell people not to believe in the miracles in the Bible, saying these miracles do not exist. They say, “Have you ever seen someone walk on water? That violates the laws of nature.” In fact, it was very dark at that time, and Jesus was standing on a board sliding on the water.

Brothers and sisters, is this explanation reasonable? If someone could stand on a board in such strong winds and waves, they should be in the world’s competitions to see how many people can stand there!

From a rational perspective, it is impossible for a person to do that. Since Jesus said this, if you believe, you will see. Peter said, “Lord, if it is you, tell me to come to you on the water.”

Peter wanted to give it a try! Jesus did not refuse him; this is our God. Sometimes our prayers sound illogical and unreasonable. But just pray! Don’t worry about it; our God knows what is best for you. He will give you the best.

In verse 29, Jesus said, “Come!” Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.

When Peter was walking on the water, at that moment, his eyes were completely fixed on Jesus Christ. He did not consider his weight, did not think about the laws of nature, and did not consider whether it would work...

Brothers and sisters, remember, no matter how heavy your burdens are or how big your problems are, look up to our Lord’s words and receive strength from them. You will find rest, strength, and faith in Him.

At first, Peter really walked on the water. His eyes were only on Jesus. We do not know how many steps he took, but he walked. However, something happened below; Peter’s supernatural ability faded. What was the reason?

In verse 30, when he saw the wind, he was afraid and began to sink.

Some say it was because the wind and waves were too strong that night. But was it really because of the wind and waves? Suppose there was no wind or waves that night, and it was calm; could Peter stand on the water? Even if it were daytime, could Peter stand on the water? No. This shows that it was not the wind and waves that caused it. Jesus could walk on the water even with the wind and waves.

No matter how bad your environment is, remember that Jesus Christ is above the environment. No matter how difficult your steps are, know that Jesus has overcome the world; He is the answer to all problems.

The external environment is not the real problem; setbacks and failures are not the real problems. The problem is that people’s hearts are afraid and lack faith.

John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…”

The first thing he wants to steal is people’s faith, causing them to doubt God and others, making them distrustful of everyone. When people do not trust anyone, they cannot do anything.

For example, if a sister gives you an apple, you hold the apple and say, “This can’t be a poisoned apple, can it?” This is the fruit of doubt.

If someone in the church donates a watermelon, and after cutting it open, everyone is eating, you say, “I won’t eat it; you are not that kind-hearted! You must want me to donate!”

Isn’t that ridiculous? In fact, you can enjoy it completely, but because of doubt, people are filled with fear and no longer have the confidence to do anything. How can you remove doubt? You need to fix your eyes on the words of the Lord Jesus; He is the faithful God.

In life, people often feel fear and worry, and sometimes doubt. At this time, you say, “Lord, what should I do?” You should not strive to say, “Lord, give me faith! I will try hard to overcome; I will not doubt.” You will not be able to do it this way. What you need to do is continuously listen to Christ’s words, listen to sermons in abundance. Renew your wrong thoughts through God’s words, because every time you think about how Jesus loves you, you will find rest and faith.

When Peter was able to walk on the water, it was because his eyes were on the Lord Jesus, so he had supernatural ability. We do not pursue miracles; we do not strive to pursue anointing. Instead, when we look up to what the Lord Jesus has done and understand His love for us, miracles will appear!

Many times, people say, “Lord, when will you heal me?” In fact, as long as you meditate on what Christ has done for you on the cross, healing can happen in an instant. If you always focus on problems and the environment, people will become weaker and weaker. Faith will disappear. When Peter took his eyes off Jesus and turned to the reality of the environment, he began to sink.

In fact, he could have walked to Jesus with supernatural ability. Some may say, “Teacher, you are exaggerating! You said that by the stripes Jesus bore, I am healed, and now it’s gone? Is it that simple?”

After I went to the hospital, the doctor said, “First, check this, then check that, and you need chemotherapy, radiation, and a series of things. It may not even heal you.” I thought this was realistic. You just say one sentence, and I shouldn’t do anything else? Is it that simple?

People cannot understand God’s healing through reason.

1 Corinthians 2:11-14

For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

Spiritual matters may be invisible, but they truly exist. If a person does not have the Spirit of God within them, they cannot understand spiritual matters. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God dwelling within us. The Holy Spirit is a powerful spirit, transcending everything in the world. Therefore, it is difficult for unbelievers to understand these things. Only spiritual people can see through them.

Therefore, when others do not understand, we should not be angry or argue with them. Instead, silently pray for them in our hearts!

Some say, “If you have such great power, why do we need hospitals?” We acknowledge that these doctors in the world are also here to save lives, and that is good. Because people’s faith is not the same. Different people receive according to their different faith. God’s will is for us to be healed and to prosper in all things. We have never said, “If you believe in Jesus, do not go to the hospital, do not need to see a doctor, do not interact with people.” No, according to your faith, Amen! If someone denies taking medicine or seeing a doctor, they are going the wrong way. Don’t believe it!

Everyone’s faith is different. If some people have already found no comfort from doctors, I suggest you turn your eyes to God and let Jesus Christ become the center of your life. Instead of being discouraged and desperate, wholeheartedly rely on God’s words. Fully believe what the Lord Jesus said.

When I was in my previous church, the pastor told us that if you want God to accomplish something for you, you should pray like this: First, seek His kingdom and His righteousness; second, pray for the nation; third, pray for your church; fourth, confess all your sins… Finally, pray for yourself!

They believed that only in this order would God listen to your prayers. Imagine if Peter had followed this order; perhaps he wouldn’t have made it through before completing the first item. Peter simply cried out, “Lord, save me!” Jesus reached out His hand and caught him.

Mark 11:23-24

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Believe as God’s word says; do not add human meaning to God’s words, as that will cause God’s words to lose their power! God is willing to listen to your prayers; He is willing to save you unconditionally, and your prayers will have faith. Therefore, you know that whenever you come before Jesus, He is always willing to save you unconditionally.

Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

Jesus is God’s beloved only Son. If the Father gave us His most beloved Son to save us, would He not be willing to accomplish the small matters in our lives?

The shortest prayer in the Bible was used by Peter because, in urgent situations, people will say the simplest and most powerful words. He did not say, “Oh, Creator of heaven and earth, Son of God Jesus Christ, you are worthy of glory, worthy of praise, mighty Lord, please save me from the water because I am about to drown…”

Can he say something that long? You can test it; when a person falls into the water, they sink in a few seconds. He cannot finish that sentence, but he can say four words: “Lord, save me!”

But are those four words clear? Who is his prayer directed to? Lord Jesus. What does he want the Lord to do? Save him!

Many people think that long prayers are what God answers. Many times, we add our own meanings to our prayers, which causes us to lose faith. Such short prayers have no personal meaning. The more we can see God’s power manifested.

Matthew 6:7-8

And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

What are you here to seek today?

Luke 7:24-25

After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? What did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces.”

Brothers and sisters, what are you here to see today? Are you here to see what new hairstyle the pastor has? Or to see if there are any newcomers in the church? If people come here not to seek Jesus, you will see a lot of dissatisfaction and many problems here. You might say, “Why is your church like this? Why did you sing the same song again? Why are there so few brothers in the church?”

What is the saddest thing for the Israelites? They left Egypt, and although they were in the wilderness, they had God’s presence. They only thought about the meat soup, onions, garlic, and leeks they had in Egypt; they did not see that God had given them the best food in the world, manna. Manna was so good; they ate it for forty years without getting sick or malnourished.

At that time, the Israelites had the best food in the world, but they did not see it. They said, “Lord, we do not want this bland and tasteless food; we want to eat meat.” They pushed away the most nutritious food in the world and wanted to eat food from the ground.

Numbers 11:32-34

The people went out all that day and night and all the next day, gathering quail. The least of them gathered ten homers. They spread them out all around the camp. While the meat was still between their teeth and before it could be consumed, the Lord’s anger burned against the people, and He struck them with a severe plague. Therefore, that place was named Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who craved other food.

When a person’s heart is not satisfied, greed arises. Unless a person’s focus is on Jesus Christ, they will not find contentment. Because He will continuously supply everything we need, we do not need to worry at all.

At that time, the Israelites wanted to eat meat, which in itself was not a problem; it was their greed that killed them. The people went out all day and night and the next day, gathering quail without sleeping or resting, fearing that the meat would run away.

The following record states that while the meat was still in their teeth, germs began to appear. It was not God who sent the plague; it was their own doing. The wilderness was very hot during the day and very cold at night. They did not differentiate between day and night while gathering quail and left it at their door. As a result, the temperature changes caused germs to appear, and many people died. God’s manna would not cause such a situation; although manna might spoil, it would not produce germs.

You need to see the blessings Jesus has given you in your life. If people cannot see it, they will easily become discouraged. What we lack in life is not gifts, not money, not love; what people lack is the knowledge of Christ. Even if you are given a lot of money, if your home is cold and empty, no one wants that kind of life. Even if you are given many gifts, if people use those gifts to attack each other, it is of no benefit. What people need most is Jesus Christ.

When the people were in the wilderness, they were very thirsty. They saw water ahead and went to drink, but found that the water was bitter. God told Moses to throw a tree into the water, and it became sweet. Amen! That tree symbolizes our Lord Jesus Christ. Perhaps you are feeling very bitter inside, and no one can understand your bitterness, but you need to learn from Moses to put Jesus Christ in your heart, and your bitter water will become sweet.

When there is conflict in your family, when interpersonal relationships are not harmonious, what will you do? You need to let Jesus enter among you. When Jesus comes into your home, your family will be harmonious because He is peace itself. When you walk with Christ every day and act according to His words, interpersonal relationships will be restored.

If you say, “Lord, business is really hard to do right now. I have tried many methods, but nothing has improved.” Then you need to learn to let Jesus Christ into your business. If you no longer see this as your own business but as Jesus’s, and you are just managing it for Him, how would you act? You would seek Jesus when making decisions. He will lead you to success.

Before the cross, it was a symbol of great shame because it was a cruel punishment used by the Romans to crucify criminals, nailing their hands and feet, causing blood to flow out and die in a very cruel way. They stripped you of all your clothes, making you die in shame and without dignity. At that time, no one wore a cross necklace. But one day, the cross changed because a person named Jesus Christ went up on it.

From that moment on, the cross underwent a tremendous transformation. To this day, when people see the cross, they see salvation. When you see a blue cross vehicle passing by on the street, you know it is an ambulance. You know someone needs healing, so this vehicle is going to save that person.

The Bible says that if anyone wants to follow me, they must take up their cross and follow me daily. What you bear now is not the painful, shameful, tearful cross because Jesus Christ has already gone to the cross; the cross has changed! Looking up to the cross of Jesus will free you from sin and pain.

So wherever you go, you carry the glory of Christ; this is the saving cross, the glorious cross.

In 1 Corinthians 2:1-5,

1 And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. I did not come to you with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

Do you see it, brothers and sisters? Paul, such a great evangelist, said, “I do not know anything else; I only know Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” Many people often say, “Oh, you preach grace; you preach a partial gospel, a foundational gospel.” Look back at Paul; do you dare say what Paul preached was also partial? Paul said, “I do not know anything else,” so our church does not listen to anything else; we only know Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Because all grace, all healing, all gifts flow from here. Hallelujah!

If your life has Jesus Christ, various gifts will manifest. If your life has Jesus Christ, love will flow out from you. Therefore, when you lack, the first thing you need to do is turn your eyes to God.

What does repentance mean? In Hebrew, it is composed of two words, meaning to return and grace. Originally, in the Old Testament, repentance meant returning to grace. When a person leaves God’s grace, various sufferings come. As long as a person turns back, the suffering ends.

In the New Testament, the Greek word for repentance means to renew the mind and turn to God.

In life, we need to repent every day; daily repentance is your key to victory. Amen! You say, “Lord, I admit I cannot do it, so I now fix my eyes on you and draw on your strength.” You can do it. Hallelujah!

John 1:36-37, When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” 37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus.

Jesus once gave a very high evaluation of John the Baptist, saying, “Among those born of women, there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist.” Why is John the Baptist the greatest prophet? Because he did something that none of the other Old Testament prophets did; he brought people to Jesus Christ. He said to his two disciples, “This is the Son of God; look, the Lamb of God who takes away your sins!” His meaning was, “Go and follow Him!” Thus, he became the greatest prophet of the Old Testament.

What can we do today? When we see a sick person, perhaps your greatest comfort is to go with them to see a doctor. Hand this person over to the doctor; that is good, but the doctor cannot solve all problems. Brothers and sisters, what about their spiritual comfort? What we can do is bring them to Jesus Christ. Each of us is a channel; do not try to help people with your own ability. You need to use God’s power to lead them to Christ. This is helping people turn to God; you are helping others repent. It is very simple, brothers and sisters.

Many times we forget to do this. You need to remind them to fix their eyes on the Lord Jesus. Because when they look up to God, Jesus Christ will surely grant them strength and comfort. We need to meditate on Jesus Christ and what He accomplished for us on the cross. He is our all-sufficient supply; you just need to rest in Him.

When your faith is correct, your life will be correct. Previously, you were striving hard, trying to do this and that, trying to do everything perfectly. Today you are different; you say, “Lord, I look up to your strength, I look up to your provision, I enjoy your rest in you. Everything is supplied by Jesus Christ; many things He has already completed. Amen! What do we need to do? Come before Him and receive His provision.

In the Old Testament, God made a covenant with the Israelites. From Monday to Saturday (I am just converting it into today’s terms; please do not mind, do not nitpick; I just want you to understand), God said you can gather manna every day; I have prepared it for you. What did the people need to do? They went out with baskets and bowls to gather the manna.

Do not doubt because God has already prepared it. On Sunday, no matter how hard you try, God said there is none; do not go. At that time, you say, “Lord, I cry out to you, I fast and pray, I will do anything to make you provide.” Will He provide? No.

God has already provided for you. Every day, God has provision in your life; you need to fix your eyes on Jesus Christ. The part you are lacking, God will supply. Thank and praise the Lord! When your faith is correct, your life will be correct. What do we need most today? People in today’s fast-paced society have forgotten to rest, and what people lack most is rest. Today you are resting before Jesus Christ. Amen!

When Jesus went to Mary’s house, Mary sat at Jesus’s feet, enjoying His provision. Amen! This is a kind of rest, brothers and sisters. So as the new week begins, I wish for you to first receive His power from God and then go to work. If you have problems with your family, at this time you say, “Lord Jesus, I want you to come into my home and change my family. I cannot do it, but I know that when you come, my family will change.” Pray like this; you need to invite Jesus Christ into your body, and your body will be healed. You need to invite Jesus Christ into your work, and your work will become very easy and very light because it is Jesus helping you. Thank and praise the Lord!

Fix your eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ! Every day we need to adjust our focus, fixing our eyes on Jesus Christ. If we stray, we will turn back again. Amen! Let us always keep our eyes on His words and let God’s words guide our lives. You will surely experience abundance.

Joshua 1:7-8

“Be strong and very courageous; be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we especially thank and praise you! As the new week begins, I wish to meditate on your words often, letting your words become my strength and standard. I am willing to fix my eyes on Christ because you have overcome this world. I wish for you to guide me to live in victory.

I believe your promises will be fulfilled in me. Wherever I go, you will be with me, leading me. Guide me to see your goodness and your glory. Also grant me wisdom and strength, blessing me in all I do. Let me be a beautiful testimony to those around me. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen!
